Women aren’t “small men”. Their physiology, performance patterns and recovery needs shift throughout the menstrual cycle. Yet, most of what we’ve learned about training is still based on male data. This workshop brings clarity, evidence and practical tools to change that. This isn’t just for women. Men who joined previous editions all said the same thing: I had no idea. Coaches, partners, teammates, anyone who trains with women or supports them will walk away with knowledge they should have had years ago.

For centuries, women were excluded from sport and from research. Even today, most performance science is built on male physiology and applied to everyone. The result: half the population trains, competes and recovers with incomplete information.

‍

In this workshop, Sport Performance Coach Eline Peterse breaks down what actually happens across the menstrual cycle and how it influences strength, endurance, recovery, fuel use, sleep, cognition and injury risk. You’ll learn why some phases feel strong and fast, while others feel heavy and slow. More importantly: you’ll learn how to train with those changes instead of fighting them.

Expect a clear, practical session where science meets real-life application.

‍

What you’ll get:
• An accessible overview of hormonal fluctuations and what they mean for performance
• How different phases affect capacity, fatigue, pacing and recovery
• What research shows about strength gains, injury risk and endurance across the cycle
• How to adjust training without overreacting or undertraining
• Space to ask questions that rarely get answered elsewhere

‍

This session runs from 13:00 to 15:00 (doors open at 13:00, strict start at 13:30).
We’ll close with an open Q&A.
